Final blog

1) Something I have learned about that I thought was intriguing, was when Dr. Weeks came into class and talked about his trip to western part of Asia. I was the prayer wheel mostly. I have never seen that before, and the fact that there were so many.
2) One thing that I realized about my own culture is that it is connected to others from all over the world. Even though I have traveled in my life, I just never made that connection before.
3) This course has inspired me to learn more about the different Asian countries. Since I have lived in Japan, I have a vague understanding, but I want to know how all the Asian countries are connected, and how they differ.

Cool Stuff

  1. Yay looking at Asia! I also thought that Dr. Week's talks were pretty interesting. I mostly liked the Asia trip because the pictures were so beautiful. The Africa show was cool, but the Asia presentation was my favorite.

  2. I also enjoyed Dr.Week's pictures and stories. His story about the guy who cocked his gun was CRAZY!!!

Also, living in other countries gives you a connection to them that you never forget. It is good that you can tell other people about your experiences in Japan and spread the wealth. I love hearing about other countries from people who have been.

  3. I watched "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." What a nice rendition! He took more liberty with the melody than any other version I have heard, and it worked so well. I loved the video footage, too. Hawaii is such a beautiful place.

  4. I really enjoyed the German video. German usually sounds harsh to me.
I also enjoyed the Hawaiian rendition of Over the Rainbow.
